Suicide Prevention Month: A tribute to Robin Williams

September is Suicide Prevention Month and you can be involved in helping to save lives with us! With the recent death of actor/comedian Robin Williams, we are gathering everyone who understands the severity of this epidemic to participate in the fight for much stronger PREVENTION AND AWARENESS for suicide. 

It is important to remember that mental health issues such as depression and anxiety can affect anyone. You do not have to be a particular personality type, you do not have to be unpopular, or bullied. Suicidal thoughts can occur in anyone.

There is an overwhelming stigma attached to suicide, which has been the biggest obstacle, and has silenced the facts. 

The truth is,EVERY 13 minutes someone in this country dies by suicide. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among young adults age 18-34. These staggering facts have to be talked about and addressed in order for us to help save lives! 

Birthday Girl has created the “Celebrate Life, Save a Life” campaign so that we can promote self-love and celebrating the gift of life, as well as to break the stigma attached to suicide. The Celebrate Life, Save a Life campaign helps to raise money for the suicide prevention and awareness programs. These programs will build awareness and prevention strategies as well as resources for those in crisis.
